The process is just simple and easy, to add text to your reels follow the following steps from your iPhone:
Step 1: Open your Instagram account and tap on + icon on the left corner of the screen.
Step 2: Among the menu shown select reels and start recording your reel content. You can also use an existing video for your reels instead of recording a new one.
Step 3: Tap preview and it will take you to the editing screen
Step 4: You see the Aa button on the right corner of the screen ? Now that’s the solution for your problem. Click on it and add texts to your reels.
Tip : You can place the text just by moving them around with your finger and resize them by expanding and shrinking it with your index and thumb fingers, just like adding emojis to your content !
How to add text to reels from an Android :
Adding text to reels from an Android phone is similar to doing it from an iPhone and it can’t get any easier.
Step 1: Open your Instagram and create a reel from existing video or just record a new one by clicking on the + sign on your screen.
Step 2 : Go to the editing screen by tapping the preview menu.
Step 3: Click on Aa button or just click anywhere on the screen to add text to your content
Step 4: The appearance of the caret (the text cursor (I)) is your symbol to start typing the text you wanna add.
Tip : Just like in an iPhone, you can move and resize the text using your fingers.
Click on done and voila, you have a reel with texts on it.

Adding multiple texts at different times :

Step 3: Add one text at a time and click done instead of adding all the texts you want to appear on your reels. You can add the other texts by simply clicking the Aa button again.
Step 4: Now you will see the movie reel on the bottom of your screen. Extend the pointers from right to left until you want your text to appear and click done. You should repeat the same process for all the other texts you wish to add.
There is no rule that restricts you from adding multiple texts at a time, but to keep the editing process simple, it’s advised to add one text at a time and select their start and end time accordingly.
Adding disappearing texts:
Instagram allows you to add fading texts to give a little more drama to your reels. The process of adding disappearing texts is similar to adding multiple texts to your reels.
Step 1: Go to reels and create your reel.
Step 2: Add text by clicking on Aa button on the edit screen
Step 3: After entering the text click done
Step 4 : In the movie reel that appears on the bottom of the screen select the video timing range between which you want your text to appear and fade.
